Diction- The Fortune Teller
"It looked all brown and black: elf-locks bristled out from beneath a white band which passed under her chin, and came half over her cheeks, or rather jaws: her eye confronted me at once, with a bold and direct gaze"(pg 172). The author uses excellent diction to make the reader feel as if he/she is actually in the room with the fortune teller. The describing language portrays an image very well indeed.

I agree, the quote has excellent diction. Which words help portray the visual imagery?
