Allusions- Harry Potter

Harry Potter is the most common allusion in this book as you can make hundreds of connections. The first is between Jane and Harry. They both live in a household that neglects them. Harry lives under the stairs and is shunned by his parents. Jane is an orphan just as Harry was and was brought under Mrs Reed's care. John, Mrs Reeds son, "bullied and punished [her]; not two or three times in the week, nor once or twice a day, but continually"(pg 5). They both are neglected and punished for nothing.

  1. I think that the harry potter allusion was a good idea but I do believe that you could of wrote about the illusions in more depth. Bringing up allusions that were not as easy to spot but more beneath the surface. It would of made this page more successful and exciting to read.

  2. I think this is a connection not a allusion, Bronte wasn't trying to reference harry potter in this quote. The connection is great though.

  3. I love the use of pictures! Harry potter is a great reference to this book. In my opinion it is the strongest tie to this book. You explained it very clearly and elaborated very nicely. This connection to Harry Potter is the strongest one. Being an orphan would be a tough life to have.
